Matthew F.
Rice
Regarded as one of the most passionate trial attorneys to litigate complex high-exposure personal injury matters in the tri-state area, Matthew “Matt” Rice possesses an unequaled fire and drive to succeed for his clients. Such commitment has brought impressive outcomes from the very outset of his career. This included obtaining one of the highest settlements ever against the City of New York in excess of $8.3 million dollars for a young woman partially paralyzed in an automobile accident on a negligently maintained roadway. Not only did Matt achieve an exceptional result that changed a catastrophically injured young woman’s life, but he made a lifelong friend. His goal is to be not only your attorney, but a trusted advisor in time of need.
"As a personal injury attorney, there is no better reward than seeing the beaming smile on your client’s face when you obtain a result that changes one’s life for the better."
Matt has also been extensively involved in litigating the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund, the East 51st Street Crane Collapse, the Staten Island Ferry Crash, the Con-Ed Steam Pipe Explosion and other high-profile cases. He has represented numerous construction and other companies in multi-million dollar lawsuits against them. This experience gives him a unique “insider’s perspective” representing our clients, many of whom have also suffered the severe and life changing catastrophic injuries he once defended against. As a result, Matt knows every tactic and strategy these entities use to defeat claims regardless of merit. He then employs this knowledge to a client’s advantage to achieve a maximum recovery.
With regards to overall practice philosophy, Matt approaches every case as if it were his only case. No detail is missed, no stone is left unturned. He is always available day and night. And lastly, his warm, energetic and outgoing personality is a great comfort to those we represent throughout what too often can be an incredibly challenging personal time for our clients.
