Fetal Distress Medical Malpractice

During labor and delivery, your baby may go into distress, which can cause a number of life-changing conditions. Physicians must acutely monitor the fetus during labor to identify any potential hazards to you and your baby. If there are signs that the pregnancy or delivery has become high-risk and that the unborn baby may be in distress, time is essential to the health and well being of both baby and mother.

The following are more common forms of negligence or medical malpractice by physicians in diagnosing, managing and/or treating fetal distress:

• Misinterpreting test results
• Failing to perform appropriate fetal monitoring
• Failing to identify fetal distress
• Failing to address complications, causing fetal distress
• Failing to timely perform a C-section when necessary

If you suspect that your doctor, nurse, or other health care provider failed to detect, treat or monitor your child’s fetal distress, you should contact Fellows, Hymowitz & Epstein immediately. We will help you understand whether your child’s injury was the result of a health care provider’s negligence, in which case, we will strive to recover the compensation that will secure their future.

If your child has suffered fetal distress malpractice,

Fellows, Hymowitz & Epstein may be able to help.
