Robert Fellows has joined the Board of Directors of the Rockland Community Foundation. The Foundation was established in 2005 as a not-for-profit corporation, which has a goal of encouraging corporate leaders, educators, youths, parents, not-for-profits, elected officials and the faith community to work toward the common objective of increasing charitable giving.

The cornerstone of the Foundation is to ensure that today’s and tomorrow’s charitable needs in Rockland County are met. The focus of the Rockland Community Foundation is to raise public consciousness of charitable giving in Rockland to the benefit of all not-for-profits in Rockland and develop and increase the County of Rockland’s overall capacity to raise private, corporate and public foundation funds. It is a privilege for Rob to serve as a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

ROCA is the largest multi-disciplunary Art Center in New York outside of New York City and was founded 65 years ago by Helen Hayes, Burgess Meredith, Kurt Weil and other luminaries. Robert Fellows serves as President on the The Rockland Center for the Arts Board of Directors.

A 43 year-old good samaritan and her husband stopped their 18-wheeler on the shoulder of Interstate 287. They came to the aid of a motorist in distress who crossed over the highway median, striking an embankment and dislodging a boulder into the roadway. An inattentive motorist traveling at a high rate of speed struck the boulder, propelling it onto the shoulder of the road where our client was standing, resulting in serious leg fractures. We overcame the defense that there was no legal responsibility because both motorists were faced with unforeseen emergencies.
